Design generally refers to the specification of an object. Design may be architectural blueprints, circuit diagrams and sewing patterns. NEED: National Entrance Examination for Design is an all India level qualifying examination conducted by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for admission to the undergraduate level programmes in design.

Industrial Engineering: The eligibility criterion for admission to a course in industrial design is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematic. Selected institutes in India offer the postgraduate course in design. Candidate has clear his Bachelors program in design before applying for a post graduate course in design.

Career Path:

Students may find it difficult to start a career as a designer. Most fresh graduates start their career working under an established professional in the industry. After 1-2 years of on-the-job training, students easily move up to higher-level positions. You can start your own design studio after some years of experience in the industry.
