Career Motivation in Women

It is the general thinking of our society that the role of women is restricted within the four walls of the house. In the past, they were not allowed to do a Jobs in India and mostly indulged only in particular house activities like cooking and reading. Career motivation for women is surely a need of the hour because an economy of a country cannot grow to its maximum potential without the women’s entry into the main stream.

Education in India

Vedic period had allowed women to study, which declined gradually after that period. However, in the British period, there was an interest in the revival of women education in India. Eminent persons like Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Vidya Sagar stood up for the cause of women education. Since then, many women were educated and reached to a respectable position in the society. Majority of the women are still deprived of education in India. Literacy rate is very low in rural areas.

Career Options

Air Hostess: This is a very promising career option right now. Many women are looking forward to become an airhostess. A lot of job opportunities are available in this field as a result of liberalization in the air policies. However, the profession of air hostess demands a lot of hard work, commitment, and total dedication.

Advertising: Advertising is a career sought after by many women across the country. The quality of Indian ads has improved so well in the recent times. Good communication skills, creativity, ability to work under pressure, command over the language, and team play are pre requisite to be successful in this field.

Advocate: Women also prefer a career in the legal field these days. An advocate's job requires high levels of integrity, hard work, and excellent negotiating and convincing skills. The job of an advocate gives respect, recognition and an esteemed social status to the women.

Engineering: Engineering is also a field, which has seen many women enrolling in the last decade. A large number of women opt for computer engineering or electronics engineering these days. B. Tech / B.E. is a 4 year course which is pursued after 10+2 exams and generally, an entrance test has to be passed to get admission to the college of your choice.

Most of the girls never apply for college after completion of school. Career motivation for women is highly required if we want to become a developed nation.
